This skin is inspired by the 2016 installment of the Call of Duty franchise, captioned Infinite Warfare.
Truth be told, I do honestly believe CoD: IW earned an undeservedly negative reputation, and for a variety of reasons. These included scifi shooters being considered "overdone" back in 2016, competition with the more polished and innovative Battlefield 1, this game overshadowing the FAR superior Titanfall 2, the studio's previous game being the reviled Call of Duty: Ghosts, CoD's previous mediocre dabbles into scifi with Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3, but mostly just the community's knee-jerk vitriolic reaction to a CoD game set in space. Ironic, considering that the community had for so long demanded a change to the tired and repeated CoD formula of "realistic" modern military shooters, which had arguably peaked with Modern Warfare 2. Hey, the CoD community is known for being toxic, not consistent.
And sure, CoD: IW doesn't come close to comparing with the mechanically similar but far more polished Titanfall 2, but it did have some combat innovations, a modest depth to the gunplay, and was more free-form compared to previous CoD titles. Not to mention that the game switches between cover-based shooting on ground and in zero-g environments, as well as reasonably engaging large-scale spaceship dogfights. The combat arenas were visually interesting, though still mostly adhering to traditional CoD linear level design. And the multiplayer was...the multiplayer. Bloated, unfocused, and exploitative.
As for the campaign, its premise and antagonists were idiotic, but the worldbuilding was decent, the 3 main characters had fairly compelling personalities and voice acting, and the story did have its own share of emotional moments.
Hey, CoD: IW came out 6 years ago. I can probably get it cheap now for...(typing sounds)...60 DOLLARS?!
Anyway, the skin itself is based on the general aesthetic of the Infinite Warfare operatives and this unrelated artwork of an exosoldier.

As part of his Praetor Suit, Doomguy wears an exoskeleton inspired by those of Advanced Warfare and the 2013 film Elysium. The Doomblade is based on the Infinite Warfare combat knife, and the shoulder launcher on the P-LAW gun.
I had the artist draw Doomguy floating adrift in space as if he'd just been shot out of his spacecraft or while in zero-g combat. The glow might be from the Sun, a nearby gas giant, or a spaceship explosion.
