This skin is inspired by an obscure 2010 third-person-shooter from Capcom known as Dark Void.
It's primarily a standard modern shooter with cover mechanics, regenerating health and weapon reloading, although its unique gimmick was its introduction of a jetpack that granted the player unlimited flight. Combined with flight guns that never ran out of ammo, the jetpack was used to enable fluid transition between standard cover-based ground shooting to spectacular aerial dogfights.
Despite its unique premise and lofty ambitions, unfortunately the game never soared high and came crashing down. The aerial controls are unbelievably imprecise, the combat is repetitive with little variety in weapons or enemies, and the story is lackluster, not to mention the game's overall shortness.
Anyway, the skin itself is based on the aesthetic of the game's hostile alien race known as the Watchers. Only the helmet appears in-game, but since the player character looks suspiciously similar to B.J. Blazcowicz, and the Watchers' tech is just so cool, I had the entire Praetor Suit drawn in that style instead. The only other feature based on the game is the shoulder launcher, which is designed after the Watchers' Disintegrator gun.
Other than that, Doomguy's falling pose was inspired by the poster of Iron Man 3.
