This drawing depicts Sentinel Slayer facing off against Deathpyre Slayer, two versions of Doomguy in original concept armors from my Doom fanfic "Day of Wrath", respectively embodying his best and worst aspects.
Sentinel Slayer is a paladin, symbolizing his chivalry, faith, and hope, and Deathpyre Slayer is a Dark Lord, symbolizing his hatred, bitterness, and nihilism.

The title is based on a quote from Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment: "Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing."
Also inspired by this quote: “Someone once told me the definition of Hell: The last day you have on Earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”
