This drawing depicts the Doom Slayer (center) from Doom The Dark Ages as King Baldwin IV, the Leper King of Jerusalem.
In real life lived 1161–1185, the ruler of the Crusader state of Jerusalem right between the 2nd and 3rd Crusades from 1174 till his untimely death in 1185 from leprosy. He became famous for not only fending off Saladin's invasions and securing a truce with the Muslim sultan, but for even participating in battles and securing military victories despite his young age and debilitating illness, until he could no longer walk, hold a sword, or even see.
